If you have a new Blackberry, then you are already in a world of awesome. But you should know that there are some cool Blackberry applications that are available for download straight to your Blackberry Smartphone. All you have to do is jump online either on your phone or on your computer, and download the application. You can have it sent to your phone, or download it to your computer, and then you can transfer it to your phone via the data cable.
For those of you who have the older model Blackberry (like me), you can still take advantage of the GPS features of the Blackberry. You will need an external antenna, but for a free application, from what I have seen, it works very nicely.
Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter all have their own Blackberry mobile apps, so you can get your social networking fix on the run. Twitter works extremely well on the Blackberry, and for business people who need to update a lot of people in a hurry, Twitter on the Blackberry is a must.
Pandora Radio is also available for the Blackberry. Pandora is a great free music service that one can use to listen to any band they want as well as bands that share similar styles. Why wouldn’t you want that on the go (smacks forehead)?
There are a lot of cool Blackberry applications. If you have an older model, then this can be reason enough to make the upgrade, as many of the best applications require the newer model Blackberry’s. Getting Blackberry apps is as easy as 1-2-3.
Using GPS With The Blackberry – Never Get Lost Again

Having a GPS (Global Positioning System) built inside of you phone is reason enough alone to get yourself a Blackberry. So many people get lost on the road every day and have go through a lot of stress to find their way back to where they need to be. What is you could just pull out your phone and dial in an address, and your phone would tell you where to go? Well now you can by using GPS with the Blackberry, and by using it, you will never be lost again!
“Well what if I don’t know where I am, how will I know the address?” Fear not, the Blackberry can pinpoint your exact location most of the time, all you need to do is pull into a service station or store that has an address, and hit “Get address” when it asks for starting point.
The GPS in the Blackberry works alongside the “Maps” program, so you will basically have Mapquest directions alongside a GPS system telling you where to turn, which road to go down, etc. It is a very convenient feature, and like I said before, it’s worth making the purchase of the Blackberry alone.
Having the GPS built into your phone saves money too, because you will not need to go out and buy a separate GPS system if you already have it on your phone.
Using GPS with the Blackberry is very simple and easy to use. By doing this, you won’t have to worry about getting lost ever again, and you won’t have to carry around paper directions that can easily get wet, lost, damaged, or ripped. You need a Blackberry with GPS features!
Blackberry Applications That Rock!

If you want applications that rock for your Blackberry, then read on! You can make your phone rock by adding new applications like GPS and other cool features. Businesses use BlackBerrys now to dispatch workers, manage work orders, process electronic time sheets, and monitor assets.
The BlackBerry has become an indispensible tool for millions of small and mid-size businesses, largely in part to its reliable push-mail solution that delivers messages to your phone as soon as they arrive in an inbox.
But in order to maintain its competitive edge, Research in Motion understands it needs to open up its doors to third-party applications to help businesses remain productive while on the go.
The following are a few recommended applications that can help you and your employees stay in touch, keep organized and remain competitive, wherever business takes you. Be sure to check with your cell carrier for availability and pricing.
eOffice from DynoPlex
eOffice lets you easily access and manage all your documents, wherever and whenever — all stored remotely on your office PC, through a password-protected virtual hard disk on the Internet. As if it were stored locally on the smartphone, you can now retrieve, review, edit, and save documents — such as Microsoft Word or Excel files. “Attachments are an increasingly frequent reality for anyone who sends and receives e-mail, and although the basic BlackBerry OS allows Office files to be viewed, the experience is severely limited,” says Levy. “DynoPlex’s eOffice is often good enough that users can leave their laptops at home and travel lighter on business trips.”
SpinVox
This voicemail-to-text service can save you time because there’s no need to dial in to pick up your voice mail. Instead, an accurate transcript of the voicemail message is text messaged to you automatically so you can simply read the message on your BlackBerry. After all, you might be in a meeting and unable to answer that important call from a client, your boss, or a member of your staff. Well, now you can discretely glance at a text message which has the content of the voicemail message on your phone.
Nuance Voice Control from Nuance Communications
Consider it an alternative to using your thumbs to type your way through all of your BlackBerry’s functions — such as making calls, drafting an e-mail or adding a calendar entry — as you can use the power of your voice to take command. Your spoken words are transcribed into text for, say, an e-mail message, or you can choose to send your voice clip as an e-mail attachment. “Voice-activated control and navigation can remove the last barrier to on-the-road productivity — the tiny keyboard — from potential objections to wider mobile deployment,” explains Levy.
WebMessenger from Apptix
This all-in-one instant messaging (IM) client supports a broad range of services, including AOL, MSN, Yahoo, Google Talk, ICQ, and Jabber. For small and mid-size businesses with mobile employees that need to routinely interact with the home office in real-time, “the presence awareness offered by an always-on IM client can be a compelling driver of productivity,” says Levy. “Road warriors can get answers to their questions more quickly, which allows them to spend more time servicing customers and less time waiting around.”
